OUR ORGANIZATION

California Worship Experience Team (CWET) is an annual family music experience that brings together Church Worship Leaders and Gospel Music Praise and Worship musicians from across Africa and the United States. CWET honors diversity of Christian communities through worship in different languages. Currently our team is made of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, DRC Congo, Ghana and Nigeria and USA (California, Massachusetts, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Kansas, Washington DC).

The ministry was born from a desire to be in the perfect will of God. A call from God to provide a safe space for God’s people to come together and worship the Lord, gain understanding with a community of believers who lift one another up. Our purpose is to give all glory to God. John 4:24 says, “God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.”

Emmah Ngaruiya Mbuthia is the President of California Worship Experience Inc, a US based non-profit religious organization with a mission to empower gospel ministers from all over the world lead the congregation in true worship and fellowship together. She is also a certified therapist, a wife, a mother, a daughter and a sister.

Emmah brings wealth of knowledge in overseeing all facets of the organization together with the Vice president/ Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Pastor Terry Jones. Emmah is part of the leadership that drives the mission, fundraising, operations, and engagement with the board of directors. As a member of senior leadership team, her mission has been to help clarify vision and strategy, cultivate healthy team culture, develop strong worship leaders and empower diverse teams.

Emmah ensures that the organization’s mission aligns with values aroun integrity, commitment, serving with excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Emmah is passionate about creating platforms for worship leaders who are called to multicultural and multiethnic ministry, helping them embrace their roots through worship.

Terry Jones is a devoted servant of God who has dedicated nearly 20 years of his life to spreading the message of faith and love. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Terry’s family migrated to the United States when he was 9 years old. It was there that he fell in love with the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior, setting him on a path of spiritual fulfillment and service.

Terry’s passion for music led him to become a skilled violinist, and Piano! He became an integral part of a large orchestra. His talent with the violin opened doors for him to travel extensively across the United States, allowing him to share his musical gifts with audiences far and wide. Terry’s passion for serving God and ministering to others led him to become a pastor at the New Life Foundation Ministries in Modesto. In addition to his calling as a pastor, Terry is a devoted husband to his best friend and wonderful wife, Charisse Jones. Together, they have been blessed with a son, Caleb, and a daughter, Carmena.

Emmah and Terry meeting one another was also divinely orchestrated by God in which led them share their Vision and commitment to serving others in which has led them to establish the CWET Foundation, an organization designed to provide a platform for ministers and singers from around the world to come together and worship and praise God in spirit and truth.

Evelyn Musoke is the secretary of California Worship Experience Inc. She grew up in Uganda and is currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Evelyn is part of the senior leadership team and plays an important role in fostering communication and ensuring proper management and utilization of important organizational records.

Evelyn has been in the Praise and Worship ministry for over 25 years. She is an experienced choir leader, song writer, a recording gospel artist and has produced 3 albums. Evelyn is a preacher and an Evangelist of the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. She has participated in gospel missions in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, the United Kingdom, Israel and the United States of America (USA).

Through her extensive experience in the ministry. Evelyn provides advice and resources to the board members on relevant ministry topics. Evelyn is passionate about gospel ministry work and leads with excellence.

The Board of Advisory

Dr. Grace Faraja Nkundabantu is the Founder and Executive Director of the African Girls Hope Foundation where she has dedicated her life to fostering positive change in the lives of young girls across Africa. Her expertise in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) initiatives, coupled with her commitment to education, has positioned her as a trailblazer in the field.

She holds a PhD in Human and Social Services with an emphasis in Global Human Services from the College of Behavioral Sciences at Walden University,a master’s degree in organizational management from Ashford University, a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor focus in Economics from Daystar University and serves as an Adjunct Professor in Gender Studies at the Jacob Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies’ International Relations, Governance and Diplomacy program.

Over the years, she has received multiple international recognitions, including the 2007 World YWCA Council, USCRI 2014 Refugee Voice, and Dr. Nina Meyerhof Leadership AWARD 2019 – for outstanding dedication to bring social change and a devotion to fight poverty and injustice.

Espoir Lumande is the California Worship Experience Inc Music Director. He is a dedicated individual driven by a profound commitment to both community service and the pursuit of musical excellence. Hailing from the vibrant nation of Congo, Espoir’s heart finds solace and purpose in the realm of worship and music. Serving as a worship leader for two local churches, he is honored to lend my talents and expertise to uplift congregations and spread the transformative power of gospel music. Additionally, he extends his support to other churches in need of musical guidance for events or conferences, embodying the spirit of unity and collaboration within the broader religious community.

With his diverse skill set encompassing computing, sound engineering, music directing, and praise arrangement, he is committed to contributing meaningfully to CWET’s collective endeavors.

Together with other gospel ministers he is committed to spread the transformative power of gospel music, inspire others, and foster a community of encouragement and unity.

Hellen Mtawali, a renowned voice coach, musician, and lecturer at Daystar University, has played a pivotal role in the music scene for over three decades. With a strong commitment to promoting African music, she is known for creating a curriculum tailored to the diverse musical styles of the continent. In addition to her academic pursuits, Hellen has been an active contributor to the music world since the 1990s.

Her breakthrough occurred in the 1990s through gospel shows such as “Sing and Shine” and “Joy Bringers” on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. In her quest to champion authentic African music, Hellen demonstrates remarkable linguistic versatility, being fluent in sixteen African languages, including Zulu, Lingala, Swahili, and various international languages such as Arabic and French.

This linguistic diversity not only emphasizes her dedication to authentic African music but also amplifies her ability to connect with diverse audiences. Currently serving as the Vocal Coach and Board Advisory Member at California Worship Experience Inc, Hellen continues to make substantial contributions to the music world, bridging cultures through her passion and expertise.
